Symposium “Infrastructures in Focus: Curating in a World of Multiple Crises”

When infrastructures stop working at some point due to wear and tear or a crisis, they become the focus of attention. What does this reveal about what a society takes for granted? And what infrastructures do (art) institutions need for the world of tomorrow?

The symposium is part of a larger cooperation between the Institute for Theatre Studies at Ruhr-University, the study programme Curating in the scenic arts at the Paris Lodron University Salzburg and the Kunstmuseum Bochum. It was jointly organized by Eva Busch (Kunstmuseum Bochum), Jörn Etzold (Ruhr-Universität Bochum), Sigrid Gareis (Curating in the Dramatic Arts course), Nicole Haitzinger (Paris Lodron University/Curating in the Dramatic Arts course), Gwendolin Lehnerer (Curating in the Dramatic Arts course), Sven Lindholm (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) and Leon Gabriel (Ruhr-Universität Bochum).
